Over 100,000 "Karen" refugees have been forced to flee their homeland, Myanmar (formerly Burma), because of severe persecution.

They are currently living along the border of Thailand.

So, I've decided to let everyone download my music for free in an effort to help. The only thing I ask in return is that you please consider making a small donation to Vision Beyond Borders, which is a non-profit, Christian organization, committed to helping the persecuted "Karen" refugees of Myanmar.

The title of this song is from a prophecy given about Jesus in Genesis 49:10, which says: "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come: and unto him shall the gathering of the people be." Shiloh means peace and Jesus is the "Prince of Peace." In a world ravaged by war, crime, and natural disasters, Jesus hears the cry of the human heart and offers Himself as the true source of peace. (Ge.49:10)

Having grown up in Los Angeles, California, without Christ, I have personally experienced the reality of sin and the desperation it can lead to. Two of my dearest friends died as a result of substance abuse. This song addresses the fact that we all need to stop blaming others for our problems and start taking responsibility for our own actions and decisions. (Romans 1:18-20)

As you listen to this song, imagine that Jesus himself is speaking to you. When you are afraid or face death, He offers His hand to you. Believing in Him gives one hope in this life and beyond. (Matthew 7:13-14) TV Special...

Many who live in a restless, materialistic society find themselves being carried away with the madness. There seems to be an endless drive for more..."He who dies with the most toys wins" is the mentality. But this often comes at great personal expense and can leave one feeling empty and dissatisfied. Jesus invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come and find rest in Him. (Matthew 11:28-30)

One thing I've noticed about human nature is the tendency we have to admire certain traits in people such as beauty, education, sophistication, eloquence, talent, etc. Celebrity status seems to be a coveted role, even among Christians. As I reflected upon this, I began to wonder if we would be attracted to the person and character of Jesus if he came to us today. He came as a servant. How many servants do you admire? (John 13:2-5, Philippians 2:5-8)

Several years ago, a friend of mine was diagnosed with Lou Gehrigs Disease. Trapped inside her own body and unable to move, she was completley dependent on others for her every need. In spite of all the difficulty and suffering, she remained steadfast in her faith and walk with Jesus. This song was written in loving memory of the inspirational life that she lived. (Mark 4:35-41)

Hope was written by my husband James, and he is singing the lead part. I added the bridge, vocal harmony and some guitar accompaniment. On November 20, 2005, Hope and Take My Hand were featured in a TV documentary about Hurricane Katrina. Read about it here...
