The F Major Scale
The F Major Scale has 1 flat. If your like most people, you might find it harder to think in terms of flats vs.sharps. I don't know why that is, but it seems to be a fairly common phenomenon. But, everything you've learned so far still applies to this key. Below are the degrees, letters and pattern of whole steps and half-steps needed as explained in the Guitar Scales lesson. EXAMPLE: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 F G A B C D E F w w h w w w hYou'll notice by following the example above that we need a half-step between the 3rd and 4th degree (A to B). In order to achieve this we must lower B natural one half-step. This gives us Bb. F MAJOR = F G A Bb C D E F
