The E Major Scale
The E Major Scale has 4 sharps. Below are the degrees, letters and pattern of whole steps and half-steps that are needed as explained in the Guitar Scales lesson.
EXAMPLE:

Remember to retain the sharps from the previous scale which in this case are F#, G# and C# . The new sharp will always come in at the 7th degree giving us D# for this key.
E MAJOR = E F# G# A B C# D# E
